The Zimbabwean Business Council (ZIBCO) Appoints Wadzanayi Phiri to Board of Directors

Dubai, UAE - 22 September 2025 – The Zimbabwean Business Council (ZIBCO), a dynamic platform dedicated to connecting and empowering UAE-based and Zimbabwean businesses by facilitating meaningful networks, advancing commercial interests and promoting bilateral trade between the two nations, is proud to announce the appointment of Wadzanayi Phiri to its Board of Directors.

A highly accomplished corporate leader and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience, Wadzanayi brings a distinguished track record in strategic management, corporate finance, and risk management.

Commenting on the appointment, ZIBCO Chairman Simba Makahamadze stated, “We are delighted to welcome Wadzanayi as the newest member of our Board.  Her extensive experience, coupled with her deep understanding of Zimbabwe’s business dynamics and expansive networks, will be instrumental in forging stronger relationships between our Zimbabwe and UAE-based stakeholders.”

Based in Zimbabwe, Wadzanayi will serve as the offshore Board Member for ZIBCO, taking on the reins from her formidable predecessor Prechard Mhako, who was recently promoted to take on a new regional role that sees him lead projects and manage portfolios outside of Zimbabwe’s borders.  

Recognized for her sharp analytical skills and a history of significant achievements, including founding a successful consulting firm and leading major corporate initiatives, Wadzanayi’s appointment reinforces ZIBCO’s commitment to strategic growth and collaboration between Zimbabwean and UAE based businesses with interests in Zimbabwe.
